Compass' own Dave McDowell is the International Director of Police Training & Outreach for Safe Harbor International Relief. Dave is a retired police sergeant who has coordinated teams of U.S. officers, chaplains, nurses and doctors to provide medical aid and food relief in Sudan. Through the use of sharing police training with Sudanese police officers in South Sudan and Uganda, Dave has been asked to teach on subjects involving ethics, officer safety, and child protection programs. This unique approach allows these strategic teams to build relationships with police and government officials not reached by many other organizations. The result has been several open doors to assist in ethical training programs and allowed access to assist the victims of genocide.
