In central India, hours from the nearest city, light years away from modern conveniences, in the middle of an oppressive Hindu culture, sits a Christian campus with a hospital, a children's home, three schools (an English language school, a Marathi language school & a nursing school) and a church.

The children's home houses 200 kids whose parents (if they have any) can't afford to raise them. The English school and the Marathi school teach hundreds of local kids (Christian and Hindu) all subjects in elementary through high school level classes. The nursing school sends outstanding, certified nurses to hospitals throughout the region. The hospital provides for the spiritual and physical health of the central Indian people. The church is the heart of the campus... and is the community where the teachers, administrators, medical technicians, nurses, doctors and residents from miles around can worship our Lord Jesus Christ and encourage each other.

Compass Church works in concert with the Umri Christian Campus to provide the necessary facilities, nourishment and tools for the spiritual and physical well being of those who live there, work there, attend classes there, get medical treatment there, or visit there. We're excited about our partnership with Umri and look forward to not only providing the necessary supplies, but also sending teams of people to improve the facilities and the campus each year. In addition, individual Compass families look to provide ongoing sponsorship for Indian kids who are welcomed into the children's home.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

The cost for each Compass team member to go on a short term mission trip to India is $1,500. It's funded entirely through the team members and the generous donations we receive.
