Visitor Guide
Attending Compass for the first time? You probably have some questions about our church… maybe questions like these:
Where DO YOU Meet?
What should I wear?
Casual clothes. Be comfortable!
What should I expect?
Expect to be surprised. Expect to be welcomed. Expect to hear the Bible read and explained in words that are familiar to you. Expect the spotlight to be pointed away from you, not toward you – so you can be at ease and better see who we are. You won’t be asked to give money. You won’t be told how to vote. If your expectations of church come from what you see and hear on TV, your experience at Compass won’t meet your expectations.
What's available for my kids?
We have creative, age appropriate programs for all ages. During services, we have programs for nursery, toddlers & two’s, pre-school (3-4 years old), early elementary (5 years old – 2nd grade) and pre-teen (3rd – 5th grade).
What's available for my teenager?
Both middle school and high school students have their own programs during our Sunday service. They also have their own mid-week programs (high school on Tuesday nights & middle school on Thursday nights).
How would you categorize Compass Church?
Compass is a Bible-teaching, Bible-believing, non-denominational church devoted to “doing life” together as a team and encouraging each other as we seek an authentic and growing relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
What healthy food do you offer on Sunday’s?
There have been several fruits and vegetables sighted in our food court area… they’re hiding within the donuts, cinnamon rolls, cookies, pastries, and of course, the great coffee that’s served every Sunday.
What are the people like who attend Compass?
Fun. Welcoming. Crazy (in a good way!). We always say that we take God very seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We have people of all ages, backgrounds and professions. The average age is probably 35 and the highest percentage of our people are probably couples with young kids… although our growing edges are 20-something singles, parents of teens and empty nesters.
What style of music do you play?
We love a variety of music… rock, jazz, rhythm & blues… even classical every now and then! Our music can best be described as similar to what you might hear on K-LOVE (90.5) or AIR ONE (89.3).
Who do you affiliate or partner with?
Compass is an independent church that was launched with the support, guidance, and partnership of Compass Church of Athens, Georgia and Rolling Hills Church of Danville, California. We still partner with those churches and have linked with CB America with regards to kids & youth camps and missions organizations. Compass also partners with and supports several local organizations including Young Life, Sparrow Clubs, Shepherd’s House and the Pregnancy Resource Centers of Central Oregon.
