Michelle grew up in Bend, coming to know the Lord at an early age and thriving in the social life of the church, music, youth and ministry activities.   She graduated from Bend High (when there only was Bend High) and then spent about 5 years in the valley, graduating from Western Oregon University and teaching in Salem.  Michelle is married to Patrick and they have 3 children - Spencer (and wife Lindsay), Mackenzie and Ethan.  She has taught preschool off and on for over 25 years. 

She is the Director of Early Childhood ministries at Compass and the “jill” of many other trades.  Michelle and Pat were Young Life and Wyld Life leaders and worked in church youth ministry for many years.  They now enjoy combining their gifts and talents in whatever ministry the Lord brings their way.  Michelle’s passion is teaching and she enjoys teaching God’s Word to children, youth and adults but finds absolute joy in her interaction with 3-5 year olds. Compass is thrilled to have Michelle leading this critical area of our church.
