Max was born in Hartner, Kansas, but grew up in Idaho and Oregon. Coming from a musical family, he loved music at an early age. Through high school and college years he played in bands and studied art and calligraphy. Settling in Salem he owned a sign business and became involved in music ministry in local churches. He met his beautiful wife of 20 years Kelly in their church choir and they have two children, Emily 16 and Maxwell 12. Moving to Bend in 2001, the Clarks are now living in the town they love and attending the church they love.
