About Us
Kirsten Heron
Kirsten organizes our "all-church" events such as Trunk or Treat, Winterfest, our Picnic/Baptisms, etc. She was raised in Portland but spent much of her childhood here in Bend. Her family would come each weekend to ski, and Kirsten was a member of the Skyliner Ski Team and MBSEF through high school. Her ski-racing career took her to races all over North America and eventually to Boston College, where she earned a bachelors degree in Political Science and Environmental Studies (she would later earn a Masters Degree from Pacific University). Kirsten continued to race competitively, earning All American honors for alpine ski racing in 1992. After college, Kirsten moved to Tahoe City, CA where she became a skilled and highly competent ski bum. There she met her husband, David, who was a skilled and highly competent bar tender and the two made a great match. With David’s influence and encouragement, Kirsten accepted Jesus Christ into her life for the first time, after they had been dating for 1 year (flirt to convert!). They married in 2005 and have been living in Bend for 2 ½ years. Currently Kirsten works as a Physician Assistant at The Immediate Care Center. She loves her job and her life here in Bend with her husband, her beautiful son Jacob, and their dog Gus.
