About Us
Kate Ewen
Kate leads our incredible Women's Ministry Leadership Team. She was born in England and spent the first two months of her life in an Abbey where she was held every moment of everyday. So when this darling young American couple decided to adopt her, little did they know how much attention she was used to. I guess it worked out, because they didn’t give her back. Kate was raised in Gresham, Oregon and went to Oregon State University, where she met her fabulous husband Nate. They were married in 1994 and built their first house in Sherwood, Oregon. Kate worked at Nike and Nate ventured into the residential construction business. In the summer of 2003, they decided enough of the big city and moved to Bend. Besides fun names to say together, Kate & Nate have two fun-loving children, Jack and Reagan. Kate says, “I love the pleasure of staying home with the kids and waking up everyday to their smiling faces. They are a joy to be around. I feel blessed to have been able to move to such a wonderful city that God created and to be around all the spectacular people at Compass.”
