INTERNSHIPS
OVERVIEW
The Compass Internship Program trains the best and brightest - young students and graduates from around the country who are excited about ministry and want to get great leadership training and experience. At Compass, we're committed to providing opportunties for interns that challenge and strengthen their creativity, initiative and decision-making abilities.
OUR GOAL is to equip serious, servant-oriented leaders for full-time ministry and to give each intern a greater sense of God's calling for their life.
OUR STRATEGY is to provide hands-on experience, personal training from gifted leaders, unique and varied challenges, and the opportunity to work on a dynamic intern team.
OUR LEADER for the program is Kip McCormick. Kip is an accomplished youth pastor, a retired Army colonel, a former professor at West Point... and has trained hundreds of future leaders in ministry and life. He has a Masters in Divinity from Andersonville Seminary and a Masters in International Relations from the University of Kansas.
KEY ELEMENTS
Our intern team consists of 8-12 single college students or graduates (ages 19-24) that serve in a ministry area that compliments their skills and abilities. Available ministry areas include:
- Children's Ministry (elementary age kids)
- Youth Ministry (middle school or high school students)
- Arts (music, drama, script writing, graphics)
- Technology (video production, audio, web design)
The Internship Program is a one year program. Interns are provided with free housing, outstanding training and experiences, a great region to explore (Central Oregon... with sunshine, skiing, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, golfing, hiking, mountain climbing, etc.), and an intern team bus for travel in and around the Bend area. Each intern works 25 hours per week in their chosen area.
Interns must raise support for all additional expenses incurred (travel to & from Bend, food, phone, entertainment, etc.).
