Leslie is excited about Women’s Ministry! She grew up in Southern California where she met her husband Dave. They’ve been married for 18 years and have been blessed with three great kids: Samantha (16), Jessica (13) and Matthew (11). The Houston’s moved to Bend 13 years ago and have never looked back. They found Bend by vacationing here one summer (upon the suggestion of the pastor of their church in California). They’re thankful for how God has blessed them with a wonderful life in Bend. They’ve been able to establish their own concrete/building company named H&H Builders - which keeps Dave very busy.
As for Leslie, she graduated in 2005 from the Dental Assisting Program at COCC. Lately, she’s been busy working for dentists in town, working in the dental lab up at COCC and trying to keep up with the Dave, the kids and the housework. But her biggest blessing is “being able to spend quality time with our kids and being surrounded by our friends and family.”
The Houston’s feel that being part of the Compass Family has been a tremendous blessing to them. They’ve been attending for over 3 years and have met so many wonderful people who they consider life long friends. Leslie “loves the ‘realness’ of the people and their desire to get closer to God while bringing others closer to God.” She loves how simple “church” can be… and also loves all the gals she has met. She says, “Through their care, encouragement and motivation, God has blessed me beyond my comprehension. And I believe this is only the beginning!”
